Hard Drive Prices Go Through The Roof

A recent flood in Taiwan has had a dramatic effect on our business due to the Western Digital Factory being severley flooded, resulting in the availability of hard drives very difficult and the prices of the ones that are available are just very expensive, approximatley 50% more. Western Digital do not plan to start manufacturing drives until January

Watch out for a DHL email

We have had several customers that have received an email claiming to from DHL, within the email there is a link that will infect your computer with a virus

Please be advised that if you received an email suggesting that DHL is attempting to deliver a package, requesting that you open the email attachment in order to affect delivery, this email is fraudulent, the attachment is a computer virus, and the package does not exist.

SCAM - Beware of a telephone scam currently circulating

Unfortunatley there is a telephone scam currently circulating were you will receive a telephone call from someone claiming to be from Microsoft, they will tell you that they have indentified some problems with your computer from your IP address, They will talk you through a few thinks with you sat at the computer, and then take control of your PC remotely, They will then try and convince you to purchase software to fix problems with your PC

This is a complete hoax and will only lead to you submitting your credit / debit card details to a company that is not official and most definately NOT Microsoft

Without being harsh! ask yourself why would a multi billion pound corporation such as Microsoft bother to phone the likes of me or you, in short they wouldn't and don't ever do this

If ever you get a phone call from any organisation asking you to use your PC - hang the phone up or if you fancy having some fun order a chicken Korma and some Pilau Rice and spoil yourself with some Popadoms

ATi Radeon v. Nvidia / AMD v. Intel ?

Bang for your buck, AMD wins hands down - We just built a system for a customer with the following core components: AMD X6 CPU 3.3 GHz, 16GB DDR3, XFX ATi Radeon HD6990 with 4GB DDR5 RAM, a VERTEX 400GB Solid State Drive all coupled up in a Gigabyte GA-MA790XTA Board running Microsoft Windows 7 Professional 64bit

In short this is not a cheap PC by any stretch of the imagination, but value for money compared to a similar i5 / i7 sytem this is most definately far better value for money by a good many hundreds of pounds.

We have always been great fans of AMD and ATi and this just shows that AMD are most definatley on a par to Intel - In short AMD / ATi Rocks

Faster Broadband at Newdell Computer Solutions

We are having a second ADSL Broadband line being installed over the next week or so, Once we have done our bit and hooked everything up to a Balacing Router it should give our customers close to a 15MB Broadband service
